North Star is a guiding light in factual programming. Formerly STV Studios Factual, we have an exceptional history and exciting future ahead.

Based in Glasgow, we’re part of the STV Studios family of production labels. From world-beating popular formats to true crime documentaries and agenda-setting specialist factual investigations, we’re proud of the impact of our award-winning shows.

North Star is the leading British producer of adored transactional brands like Antiques Road Trip, The Travelling Auctioneers and The Yorkshire Auction House. We produce jaw-dropping boxsets like The Beauty Queen and the Catfish and high-profile science documentaries like Disease X: Hunting the Next Pandemic. We created the groundbreaking factual entertainment format Murder Island, and with documentary series like The Firm and The Troops, we get unprecedented access to extraordinary institutions.

It’s a rich range – and at the heart of all our shows is a deep creative ambition and flair for exceptional storytelling.
